LinkedIn carousel specs

Updated July 2026

A LinkedIn carousel is not its own post type. It is a document post. You upload a PDF and LinkedIn renders it as a swipeable viewer in the feed. That single fact explains every other spec on this page.

File formatPDF. Also accepts DOCX, PPTX, but PDF is the only one that renders predictably.
Square size1080 × 1080 px (1:1). The safest choice; renders consistently everywhere.
Portrait size1080 × 1350 px (4:5). Takes more feed height; can be cropped in some placements.
Slide count6–10 slides. Hook, 4–8 body slides, one CTA.
Max pages300 pages, though nobody should approach this.
Max file size100 MB. A 10-slide deck from this tool lands well under 8 MB.
Document titleShown above the carousel in the feed. Write it as a second hook, not a filename.
Text safetyKeep text ~60 px clear of every edge. The mobile viewer crops tighter than desktop.

What makes a good LinkedIn carousel

The first slide is the whole job

In the feed, slide one is competing with everything else on the screen, not with slide two. A hook that names a specific reader and a specific cost (“5 content systems solo founders actually stick to”) beats a category label (“Content tips”) every time. If you only edit one slide in this tool, edit that one.

One idea per slide

A slide is read in about two seconds. That is one claim and one sentence of support, not a paragraph. If a slide needs a second idea, it needs to be two slides.

Emphasis is what separates good from generic

Highlighting the two or three words that carry the argument gives the eye somewhere to land while swiping. Most free tools skip this entirely, which is why their output reads flat. Select any phrase on a slide above and hit Highlight.

The CTA should ask, not sell

The last slide earns comments when it asks a question the reader already has an answer to. “Which one are you starting this week?” outperforms “Book a call” on reach, and reach is what a carousel is for.

Questions

Is this LinkedIn carousel generator really free?
Yes. You can edit the deck and download the PDF with no account and no card. AI generation is rate-limited to 3 topic generations and 2 content generations per day, which is where a free FlyPost account helps if you need more.
What size should a LinkedIn carousel be?
LinkedIn carousels are document posts, uploaded as a PDF. Square 1080×1080 px pages are the safest choice because they render consistently on desktop and mobile. Portrait 1080×1350 takes more feed height and can perform better, but it is cropped in some placements. This tool exports square 1080×1080 pages.
How many slides should a LinkedIn carousel have?
Six to ten. A hook slide, four to eight body slides and a call-to-action slide is the pattern that performs most reliably. Fewer than five rarely earns the swipe; more than twelve loses people before the CTA. This tool caps free decks at ten slides.
Does the exported PDF have a watermark?
Only on the last slide, and you can see it in the preview before you download. No surprise. Every other slide is clean. A free FlyPost account removes it entirely.
Can I use my own brand colours and fonts?
Yes. The palette, font pairing and author details are all editable here. FlyPost goes further and extracts your colours, fonts and logo from your website automatically, then applies them to every carousel you make.
How do I upload a carousel to LinkedIn?
Start a post, choose the document option, upload your PDF, then give the document a title. The title shows above the carousel in the feed, so treat it as a second hook rather than a filename.
